Rick was our go-to expert on all strategic marketing matters. With over four decades consulting on the marketing and research needs of clients, Rick was one of the heavy hitters behind major projects for Dofasco and Interac to name but a few. Rick reminded us all of another heavy hitter – Clint Eastwood. Aside from his remarkable resemblance to the ex Carmel mayor, Rick always arrived for a meeting like Clint rides into the final showdown where he faces the Rojos in A Fist Full of Dollars – incredibly well prepared. And while Rick always made a great entrance in his Corvette Stingray, he also made a graceful exit on his own terms, just like he planned. I think this quote from The Good, The Bad and The Ugly sums up Rick quite well: “You see, in this world there’s two kinds of people, my friend: Those with loaded guns, and those who dig. You dig.” Rick, you were an incredible wealth of knowledge and an important part of Design Thinking, and we were just happy to dig next to you. You will be missed.
“Teamwork is the ability to work together toward a common vision. The ability to direct individual accomplishments toward organizational objectives. It is the fuel that allows common people to attain uncommon results.” Andrew Carnegie
