Before I jump in about my first week experience I want to talk about two months ago when I came into the Design Thinking Agency for my interview.
For some reason I wasn’t as nervous as I probably should have been, when I walked in and met with Vance I felt very comfortable. Best way to describe the feeling is when you’re looking for a new car, you’ve been looking around for a while, but lo and behold you stumble upon a car that finally makes you say, “this is the one”. That‘s what I thought after finishing my interview with Vance, I could just tell that I would be learning a lot from him and the rest of the Design Thinking team.
Fast forward to my first day: I’m a huge Apple fan, I would call myself an enthusiast and brand ambassador. So, I thought it was very cool when the computer John had set up for me was Apple’s 1987 Macintosh SE. This is the first time I’ve seen this computer and amazingly it still works! Good thing I have my MacBook Pro though because you can only play Space Invaders on it.
Over the past week, I’ve enjoyed working with and being around the team, they are all very welcoming and delightful people. You and your business would love to work with them; they put out great content backed by a great strategy.
I have worked on a few different tasks over the past week. I began with pulling content from client’s websites to revamp the wording to not only fit in with the new website design template, but also to sometimes make it simply flow better. In this past year studying at Mohawk College, I grew fond of digital marketing, specifically social media and SEO. Who knew that posting blogs would have such an enormous effect on how your website ranks within Google’s system.
I have started to write blog posts for Design Thinking and for different clients on industry topics to give consumers insight and advice while also improving their Google ranking. To be honest, I was never a huge fan of writing but I’m pleasantly surprised that I’ve enjoyed it thus far. Must be because I’m not writing formal essays anymore.
I’m excited to see what the rest of my internship brings!
Bye for now,
