COVID-19 Reopening: Digital Marketing Checklist

COVID-19, oh what changes it has caused! From closing up shop to opening to closing to partially opening, it’s easy to lose track of where to begin, and when. If you’re looking to successfully open up shop, whether it’s in person or online, take a look through our blog below to set you and your business up for success.

Business Hours and Google Listings

When looking for more information about a business, the two most popular locations to look are Google and the business’s website. Whether you’ve already opened back up or are planning to, your customers won’t know you’re back without updating your business hours and your Google Business listings. There is nothing more frustrating than checking to see if a business is open but when you get there, they’re closed. Be sure to review your business hours on both your website and your Google Business page – ensuring that both of them match and are accurate will allow for more visitors to know when they can come to see you and also helps build trust.

Reach Out to Your Customers where they are looking for you.

Use your social platforms to let your customers know you’re back. According to Forbes, internet use has increased by 70% over the last few months meaning more of your customers are online than ever before. Whether you post it organically or create an ad, letting your customers know you’re back in action with targeting messaging is a sure-fire way to get back on their radar. You can simply let them know you’re open again, or you can offer a discount to bring them back – consider letting them save the tax or get a freebie to entice them to come back to the store. Google Ads can be updated to reflect your new changes, and  SEO can be implemented to make your website visible to Google and at the same time help it get back up higher in the rankings.

Rejig your Marketing Strategies
You know that old saying “If nothing goes right, go left!”. With all the changes in the last 18 months, it’s likely that your marketing strategy has long gone astray. Consider updating your marketing strategy to make it work better for you under the circumstances. Even if you are running an online store, the way people shop has drastically changed. Be sure that you’re meeting your audience where they’re at by optimizing your e-commerce, take time to review your strategy and change it where you see fit.
